I think we are doing okay my "Pie in the Sky" goal would be $500, but $600- $700 is probably more reasonable considering the size of our family & the number of pets(2 large black labs & 4 cats & 12 hens. Now the hens just need to start laying!)

My goal this month is to cut our grocer budget in half- $350- and use the extra money for some other things. My 17 cu ft freezer is jam packed, my extra fridge is full, my pantry is full. I am still going to be stockpiling, just not everything.

I am going to focus on items that I haven't seen on sale except around the holidays and focus on FREE or REALLY CHEAP! My goal is buy mostly fresh dairy, produce, pet food and flip at CVS.

It has been another expensive month. We were completely out of dog food and cat food. I have also had to buy a lot of canning supplies and extra food items. I have also been spending more on fresh produce every week. It is possible to save more on groceries, but I also want to make sure that I am serving meals and snacks that include lots of fresh fruits & veggies and have a lot of variety.

www.southernsavers.com -best free list for the south! www.hotcouponworld.com - has a coupon database for quickly searching for coupons www.couponmakeover.com -great local site run by friend...I check daily to make sure I am not missing any HOT deals! www.afullcup.com -okay site if I am bored with hotcouponworld! www.grocerygame.com -not a free site, but best list & most well organized. -free 4 week trial, and then $10 for first store, $5 each additional...I have 2 stores so $15 every 8 weeks. -Very good for beginners or those short on time

I am not expecting to see sky high savings percentages. I am going to try and cut back on our groceries so we can make up for all we unexpectedly spent at vet & new van tires. That being said I am going to focus on buying the cheapest healthy items, items we NEED (other than flipping at CVS) and items to fill in meals from our garden.

Our 17 cu ft freezer is VERY full so I will be looking for cheap cuts of meat or simply eat out of our freezer.
